Calling all teens! Have you always wanted to write a novel but can’t think of a good idea for a plot? Is starting the easy part, but you get stuck a few pages in? Join our Teen Novel Writing Camp this summer for a four-day fiction fitness boost!

Over a period of four 2-hour sessions, you will learn the basic tenets of novel structure. Then you’ll get writing, and you’ll receive thoughtful feedback as you share your work in a supportive environment. Whatever your prior experience, you’ll gain and hone essential skills for writing your masterpiece.

Each session will take place at Kepler’s Books from 11 AM–1 PM. Snacks and drinks will be provided. The cost of the four sessions is $300 total; sessions may only be purchased as a complete set.

Monday, July 20: Idea Factory and First lines

In this session, students learn how to turn an idea into a full-length novel or short story, as well as how to write great opening lines.

Tuesday, July 21: Write and Incite

In this session, students learn about the inciting incident—basically, what makes a story tick and how to keep readers turning pages.

Wednesday, July 22: BOLO Character

In this session, students learn how to create dynamic and realistic characters.

Thursday, July 23: Sneak Peak

In this session, students learn what goes into creating a truly climatic scene.
